Kenmore House: The Way It Was!!

This is the way the old 1925 stone house and yard looked!

When Lane, my son, and I first saw it, it was right out of an enchanted fairy tale. We wound our way over the old bridge and through the thick and over-grown landscape to the old mysterious stone house. I almost expected and old troll to come out from under the bridge and threaten us!

The old Kenmore house was discovered by Joseph & Lane Middleton on about September, 2003.

It was on a beautiful lot on a beautiful street but the house was a disaster!

When we first saw the house, we walked through the dense vegetation (you could hardy see the hosue from Kenmore Drive because the front yard was so overgrown). It was in the early fall and it felt like we were going into a magic kingdom. There was something very whimsical and magic about the house and yard.

We knocked on the old, peeling, red front door and an older, strange-looking lady answered. She was cleaning up and looked us over suspiciously. She asked if we were real estate people and when I told her we were not, she informed us that she could not show us the house.

Lane & I must have looked very sad because, after studying us alittle more, she said, "Okay, come on it but it's not tready for showing."

The house was marvelous! It was like fantasy land. The old gold baby grand piano, the cracked patinied plaster walls, the weathered oak floors, the old french doors. I loved it!!
